Our Your Money Team is here to give you personalised advice about welfare benefits. We’ll help you understand which benefits you may be entitled to, support you through the application process and help you challenge any DWP decisions if we believe they’re wrong. Our aim is to help you increase your income so you can manage your rent and household bills.

If you need welfare benefits advice, you can expect us to:

  • get back to you within 10 working days after we receive your referral.
  • contact you to find out what support you need
  • help you apply for benefits so you can get the maximum income you’re entitled to
  • support you in challenging DWP decisions if the evidence shows the decision may be incorrect
  • link you to other services if needed, such as our tenancy sustainment service, to help you manage your tenancy

We will measure our performance by looking at:

  • how much additional income we help people receive
  • the percentage of referrals that result in an increase in income
  • the average amount of extra money received by the tenants we support
