This standard aims to ensure that homes that are currently empty are safe, secure and in a good condition for new tenants. 

When a property becomes empty, you can expect us to:

• inspect it quickly and start necessary work
• complete all essential safety checks before it is let
• make sure urgent repairs are finished before a new tenant moves in
• present the home in a clean, safe and decent condition
• improve energy efficiency where possible
• provide clear information to people being offered the home

We will measure our performance and report on:

• average number of days to let a property
• energy ratings at band C or above
