BCP Homes moving home standards
If you need to move home, you will normally have to apply to go onto the waiting list. You can do this on the BCP HomeChoice website. If you need any help with this, get in touch with us.
If you are moving from your home, we will:
- tell you how much notice you need to give
- visit you to let you know how what you need to do before you leave
- provide you with support if you need it or are moving to a smaller home
When we offer you a new home, we will:
- ensure that the work to your new home meets the requirements of our voids standard
- contact you to discuss any support that you may need to move or help to manage a tenancy
- arrange a time for you to meet with us to view the property and ask any questions
- arrange a time to meet with you to sign the tenancy agreement, other paperwork and tell you what you need to do next
- ensure that 90% of our tenants are satisfied with their new home and the advice that we gave them on moving
You can also try and find another tenant to exchange tenancies with, and we will offer a free mutual exchange service to help you to do this. You can use the HomeSwapper website to look for exchanges. You need our written permission before you do an exchange.
If you apply for a mutual exchange, we will:
- carry out an inspection of your home to tell you what repairs you will need to complete
- provide you with our decision within 42 calendar days of receiving your application
We will measure our performance by reporting on:
- tenants satisfied with the condition of their new home
- tenants satisfied with the advice that they received when moving
- mutual exchange requests receiving a decision within 42 days
