BCP Homes domestic abuse standards

When we receive reports of domestic abuse, we will:

  • offer advice on additional security measures and emergency accommodation
  • contact victims/survivors within 24 hours of receiving a report and carry out a risk assessment
  • ensure that our staff have had specialist training in dealing with domestic abuse and people who have experienced trauma
  • listen and create safe environments to have discussions
  • treat all information received in confidence
  • refer victims and survivors for specialist support if they agree
  • support victims and survivors to remain in their home if that is what they want

We will measure our performance by reporting on:

  • victims/survivors contacted within 24 hours of receiving a report
  • victims/survivors who want to remain in their own home and are able to do so
