Overview
An older person's bus pass allows you to travel on local buses in England for free during off-peak hours.
Off-peak hours are 9:30am to 11pm Monday to Friday and all day on weekends and bank holidays.
You can apply for an older person's bus pass if you have reached the state pension age and are a permanent resident of Bournemouth, Christchurch or Poole.
If you have a second home you must apply to the council where your main home is.
Older person’s bus passes are not valid on:
- reserved seat services such as coaches
- temporary services running for less than 6 weeks
- taxis, rail services, ferries, shopmobility or voluntary car schemes
- community transport services
