Disabled person's bus pass fare trial
From 1 June 2026, disabled person's concessionary bus pass holders will be able to travel before 9:30am for £1 per single journey.
We are running a trial with Morebus where people with a BCP Council "Connect" disabled person's bus pass can pay £1 for a single journey before 9:30am and after 11pm on weekdays. Weekends already have no time restrictions.
The aim of the trial is to help disabled people of working age get to jobs, work experience, education and training in the morning. The trial will also cover night bus travel to support shift workers.
You will need to show your bus pass to the driver and pay £1, you will then be given a paper ticket.
This is a local offer, so it only applies to Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole residents and to journeys that start within that area (Morebus Zone A).
If a pass includes a companion (shown as a "C+" on the card), the companion can also travel for £1.
The trial is funded by the government through the Local Area Bus Grant given to us for 2026 to 2027 to support improvements to bus services.
