Our timeline for Constitution Hill
Due to vandalism making these buildings unsafe we have had to progress the demolition work through a formal planning application resulting in a Section 80 notice for building control approval.
The demolition works commenced in June 2024 and are due for completion in December 2025.
Our Principal:
- contractor is Wessex Demolition
- designer CDM is Calford Seaden
Our contractor will be using the access road on Constitution Hill Road for blocks 1 to 4 and the Jellicoe Close entrance for blocks 5 to 7.
Design phase for new housing on Constitution Hill
There are currently architects commissioned and working on designs for new housing on the site. Public consultation on these draft plans will take place in November 2025.
Future timeline of the project
The next stages of the project are to:
- complete the Planning Performance Agreement (PPA) process
- start public engagement
- complete RIBA stage 3 designs
- review the overall financial viability of the site
- apply for full planning approval following public engagement
- funding strategy to be formally agreed by council and Cabinet
