The Safer BCP safe accommodation strategy explains how local partners will provide safe housing and support for people fleeing domestic abuse.
It focuses on:
- helping survivors stay safely in their own homes where possible
- improving access to safe accommodation and specialist support
- helping people move on to long-term housing
- strengthening partnership working across services
The strategy also aims to improve support for groups who can face additional barriers, including disabled people, those with complex needs and male survivors, while using survivor feedback to shape services. Its overall goal is to ensure everyone affected by domestic abuse has access to safe, suitable accommodation and the support they need to recover and rebuild their lives.
