Funding for Friends Groups
As a constituted friends group, you can apply for funding and grants to pay for things like tools, plants, raised beds or whatever you may need for your project.
Before you apply for funding, your group must have:
- a signed constitution
- a bank account in your group's name
- a clear project plan and budget
- the ability to report back on spending
Where to apply for funding
You can sign up to our What Funds newsletter to find out what grants or funding might be available to your group.
You may be also be able to apply for funding or grants from:
- town or parish councils
- local businesses
- charities and trusts
- national funders such as National Lottery, Tesco, Asda and Ariva
The BCP 4 Community website allows you to search for government, non-government, lottery and charity trust funding opportunities.
What to include in your application
When writing your application, make sure you include:
- who you are
- what your group wants to do and why it matters
- how much you need
- how your project will be delivered
- how success will be measured
