How the Access to Food Partnership works
The Access to Food Partnership brings together community food projects across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, BCP Council frontline teams, and health, community and voluntary organisations. Together we have been working since 2020 to make sure that everyone can feed themselves and their families nutritious food when times are hard, whilst building resilience and preventing further crisis.
We do this by giving community food organisations and groups the skills and tools they need, bringing communities together to build on local strengths and making sure those that need the support are able to find it when they need it.
Mission
The partnership mission is to:
- prevent prolonged crisis by improving connections between partners and support services so households can get the right help as quickly as possible
- support the network of community food projects through training, funding and shared learning
- widely promote partners, the partnership and the support available

Meetings and conversations
The Access to Food Partnership holds a forum meeting every 3 months and working group meetings every month. These meetings bring people together to discuss important issues and find ways to improve food access in our area.
The partnership also hosts neighbourhood meetings to find ways to reduce food insecurity in local areas.
