Pride in Place Neighbourhood Boards

A Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board will be set up in each Pride in Place area to make sure local voices are at the centre of decision‑making.

What Pride in Place Neighbourhood Boards do

Neighbourhood boards will:

  • engage with the local community
  • agree a shared long‑term vision for the area
  • set investment priorities
  • help design and deliver a Pride in Place plan

They play a central role in shaping how Pride in Place funding is used locally.

Who is involved

Each board will include:

  • local residents
  • community representatives
  • an independent chair
  • the local MP
  • council and partner representatives

The board will work openly and aim to reflect the community it serves.

Independent neighbourhood chair

Each board will be led by an independent chair. The chair will:

  • provide strategic leadership
  • act as a champion for the area
  • make sure the board is community‑led and inclusive
  • support constructive discussion and decision‑making

The chair works closely with residents, community organisations and partners to ensure local priorities are heard.
