Let us know your child is being educated at home
You can use our online form to let us know that your child is being educated at home.
You will need to provide:
- your contact details
- your child's details
- information about the education you will be providing and what resources you plan to use
- any relevant documents such as timetables or examples of learning
If your child is already enrolled at a school, you must tell the headteacher in writing that you want to take them out of school to educate them at home.
What happens next
If we feel that the information you've given us shows us that you are able to give your child a suitable education at home, we'll contact you again on a yearly basis to get an update on their education.
You can also keep us updated on your child’s home education progress throughout the year so that we have a record of this when we get in touch.
If we feel that your child would not be getting a suitable education at home, we will get in touch with you for more information and to offer advice and guidance.
