Consultation closes on 29 May 2026
This consultation opened on Friday 8 May 2026 and closes on Friday 29 May 2026.
As a council, we remain committed to being open about the decisions we need to make to protect essential local services, support vulnerable residents, and keep our communities running well. To do this, and to ensure long term financial stability, we must continue to assess our spending and review how we use our resources.
We are proposing to introduce a small winter charge on a limited number of Poole on‑street parking roads that have previously been free during the winter, to bring them into line with parking charges in the surrounding area.
We are also proposing to increase and simplify tariffs at Undercliff Drive car park. This is to align charges with comparable BCP Council seafront car parks and give motorists the greater flexibility of paying for shorter stays during peak season.
These changes will help us meet our statutory duties and manage rising costs at a time of ongoing financial pressure on local authorities. Income from parking helps us protect essential services, including home-to-school transport and our wider transport network.
The deposit document contains details of the tariff changes.
