What we do
The Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Learning Disability Partnership Board is administered by Adult Social Care Commissioning, BCP Council.
The purposes we use your personal information for
We collect and process your personal information to provide these services to you. This will include:
- Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Learning Disability Partnership Board electronic newsletter (to all subscribed to receive it)
- information and email/Outlook calendar invitations to the BCP Learning Disability Partnership Board and its related groups (for Board and Group members, and also guests where requested)
- to send other ad hoc electronic information from time-to-time relating to supporting people with learning disabilities.
The personal information we collect and use
We only obtain and use the information we need to provide our services to you. We also obtain and use special category information.
The law we use to process your personal information
Statutory legislation
The main legislation that provides us with the statutory basis to deliver our services is:
- Community Care Act 1990
- Care Act 2014
- Mental Health Act 1983
- Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Education Act 1996 – schools, admissions, etc.
The GDPR/DPA conditions we meet
The conditions that we use to process your personal information are:
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018:
Article 6 – Lawfulness of Processing:
- a) the data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes
- b) processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract.
Special category personal information
We also use these additional conditions to process your special category personal information:
Article 9 – Special Categories of Personal Data
- a) the data subject has given explicit consent to the processing of those personal data for one or more specified purposes, except where Union or Member State law provide that the prohibition referred to in paragraph 1 may not be lifted by the data subject.
How to withdraw your consent
Where you have been asked to provide your consent to processing you can withdraw it at any time. If you wish to withdraw your consent, please contact or talk to the officer in the Council who has been providing the service or services to you. If you do not have an officer that you have regular contact with, please make your request to withdraw consent to our Customer Services team
Remember to tell us which service or services your request applies to, so that we know who to send it to within the council.
Who we may share your information with
We use a range of organisations to either store personal information or to help deliver our services to you. Sometimes we have a legal duty to provide your personal information to other organisations, for example the court service or HM Revenue and Customs.
We will not share your information with outside organisations, with the exception of where you have asked to receive Outlook calendar invitations to either the Board or its related groups.
Please note in this circumstance your name and email address will be available to other members of the invitation and/or any person that has access to any members own Outlook calendar. This could extend to parties from outside organisations or members of the public.
Your information will not be disclosed to any other organisations, except where we are required and allowed to by law.
We may seek your consent if we are able to offer additional services which we believe are of benefit to you. This will be clearly communicated to you. We will only share your details with these organisations if we have your consent. We will not share your information otherwise.
How long we keep information about you
We will retain this information for as long as you want to subscribe to the newsletter and/or be involved in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Learning Disability Partnership Board.
