Planning advice note

When you submit a planning application, you may need to include additional information to help us assess your application. Our planning advice note tells you what information to provide for each type of application.

Validation checklists

Validation checklists tell you what information you may need to send us in order for us to validate and assess your planning application.

If you're not sure which checklist you need, you should find the application you need on the Planning Portal. You should use the checklist with the same name.

New local validation checklist

Cabinet adopted the new local validation checklist on 4 February 2026. It will come into force on 2 March 2026.
