Overview
You automatically qualify for a Blue Badge if you get:
- Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and have scored either:
- 8 points or more for 'moving around'
- exactly 10 points for 'planning and following journeys' (if you cannot make any journey because of overwhelming psychological distress)
- the higher rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
If you are applying for a child, they must be over 3 years old.
Your Blue Badge will be valid for the length of your benefit award or 3 years, whichever is sooner.
You may be asked to provide evidence that you receive PIP or DLA when you apply.
