Aidan Dunn, Chief Executive of BCP Council and Ballot Holder, today announced at Poole Museum that the ballot has been successful.
The result means Poole BID, established in 2016, will continue to operate from 1 July 2026 to 31 March 2031, delivering projects funded through a 2.1% levy, generating approximately £350,000 per year of investment in Poole town centre.
For the ballot to succeed, two statutory tests had to be met: a majority of businesses voting in favour by number, and a majority by total rateable value.
Both thresholds were achieved. Of the 153 votes cast, 127 were in favour of the proposed 2026-2031 Business Plan.
The new term will focus on four key priority areas identified through consultation with over 480 levy-paying businesses:
- A Safer, Stronger Poole
- Pride in Place
- Promoting Poole
- Supporting Growth
