BCP Council is consulting on the Sandbanks Neighbourhood Forum, following an application by a community group in Sandbanks to become a designated Neighbourhood Forum.

The consultation commenced on Monday 23 September, and BCP Council is seeking local opinion from residents and businesses who have a connection to the area. They are being asked to consider whether the neighbourhood area and the proposed Neighbourhood Forum are appropriate.

The application and relevant information can be viewed between 9am - 4.30pm at the Planning & Regeneration Department at the Civic Centre in Poole. Copies of this information are also being held at Canford Cliffs Library. The consultation document, and supplementary information, is also available online at www.poole.gov.uk/SandbanksConsultation

Responses to the consultation must be received no later than 4 November 2019. Consultation responses can be made via email to planning.poole@bcpcouncil.gov.uk or by post to Nick Perrins, Growth & Infrastructure, BCP Council, Civic Centre, Poole, BH15 2RU.

Cllr Lewis Allison, Portfolio Holder for Tourism, Leisure and Communities, said: "I encourage residents of Sandbanks, and interested community groups in the area, to take this opportunity to have their say. It is important that this consultation captures the representations of anyone wishing to comment on the proposed Neighbourhood Forum."

All responses will be considered and will feed into the council’s formal decision making.

If approved, the Forum may be able to exercise neighbourhood planning powers by preparing a Neighbourhood Plan under the Localism Act 2011.
