BCP Council is consulting on the East Cliff & Springbourne Neighbourhood Forum and Area following an application by East Cliff & Springbourne Residents’ Group to establish itself as a designated Neighbourhood Forum.

The consultation commenced on Monday 19 August, and BCP Council is seeking local opinion from residents and businesses who have a connection to the area. They are being asked to consider whether the neighbourhood area and the proposed Neighbourhood Forum are appropriate.

If approved, the Forum will be able to exercise neighbourhood planning powers by preparing a Neighbourhood Plan under the Localism Act 2011. This is intended to give the community direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the development and growth of their local area.

Paper copies of the application and relevant information can be viewed between 9am - 4.30pm at the Springbourne and Bournemouth Libraries.

Cllr Millie Earl, Leader of the Council said: "I encourage residents of East Cliff and Springbourne, and interested community groups in the area, to take this opportunity to have their say on the proposed Neighbourhood Forum and Area Boundary. It's essential that we hear from a wide range of people on these important proposals for future development in the area."
