BCP Council is consulting on two applications for forum and area designation in the East Cliff & East Cliff and Springbourne localities to establish a designated Neighbourhood Forum.
The consultations commenced on Monday 24 February, and BCP Council is seeking local opinion from residents and businesses who have a connection to the area.
They are being asked to consider whether the neighbourhood areas and the proposed Neighbourhood Forums are appropriate.
If approved, the Forum will be able to exercise neighbourhood planning powers by preparing a Neighbourhood Plan under the Localism Act 2011. This is intended to give the community direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the development and growth of their local area.
Cllr Millie Earl, Leader of the Council said: "I encourage residents of East Cliff and Springbourne, and interested parties and community groups in the area, to take a look at the proposals and have their say on both applications.
"It's essential that we hear from a wide range of people in the area on these important proposals to help inform the council to decide on the most appropriate way forward."
