Cllr Vikki Slade

Councillor Vikki Slade, the Leader of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council, will answer questions from residents during a live Question and Answer (Q&A) session next week.

The session will be broadcast on Wednesday 29 November, from 12 noon.

The session is open to questions on any subject.

Councillor Slade said:

"This Q&A comes at a time when we are facing a challenging economic environment on a scale we’ve never experienced before.

"We are not alone in this – we are dealing with the same tough financial pressures as all other local authorities.

"Earlier this week we launched our budget consultation, enabling residents to have their say on our saving proposals before any decisions are made for setting next year's balanced budget.

"I welcome the chance to talk about this consultation and how are managing the situation by working with officers, members, stakeholders and residents to do what’s best to provide essential services to support the most vulnerable in our society, keep our communities clean and safe, and maintain core infrastructure.

"If there are any other subjects people want to ask me about, including the Town Centre Summit or our children’s services transformation, I would love to receive some questions on these too."

Questions can be submitted in advance via: LiveQandA@bcpcouncil.gov.uk or through comments on BCP Council’s social media posts.

There will also be the opportunity for people to ask questions during the Q&A within the comments section and have them answered in real-time.

The session will be broadcast across the council’s main social media channels including on youtube.com/bcpcouncil and is available to watch later for those unable to tune in live.

Residents and businesses have until 11:59pm on Wednesday 20 December 2023 to complete BCP Council’s budget consultation and submit their ideas by visiting haveyoursay.bcpcouncil.gov.uk/budget
