In August 2025, Medequip became the new provider of the community equipment service for BCP Council and Dorset Council residents, taking over from NRS Healthcare. Medequip stepped in, at short notice, following the insolvency of NRS Healthcare.
Pan-Dorset Community Equipment Service Update
Since taking over the service, Medequip has worked with the Local Authorities and NHS services to return to normal levels of service.
The service offers a full range of standard equipment with a typical delivery time of five working days.
Urgent same-day or next-day deliveries are available for end-of-life care, hospital discharge or admission prevention.
A comprehensive collection service is in place to return, recycle, and reuse unwanted equipment, typically within five working days.
Medequip also provides full repair and replacement for standard community equipment.
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) has resumed across Pan-Dorset with hoists, alternating mattresses, and suction equipment being classed as the highest priority.
Other items, such as chairs, beds, and bath lifts, are also being scheduled for testing.
Medequip will always aim to test all equipment at a property during a single visit.
Note: Medequip is responsible only for equipment supplied through the Pan-Dorset Community Equipment Service or as agreed by commissioners.
Critical equipment requiring repair or overdue testing should be reported by phone on 01305 235499 or by email to PanDorset@medequip-uk.com
Medequip is a trusted national provider with extensive experience in delivering essential community equipment services across the UK.
