Next Wednesday (10 August 2022) at 12:30pm, the Leader of BCP Council will be answering your questions on what is being done to welcome and support the thousands of visitors who will come to enjoy the area this summer.
Councillor Drew Mellor, Leader of BCP Council, said:
"In July we saw soaring temperatures across the country, with over 100,000 visitors coming to experience our region’s award-winning beaches on one weekend alone.
"We are now in the holiday season and look forward to a great summer with many more people continuing to come to our area to relax, have some fun, stay at our hotels and visit our local businesses in the weeks ahead.
"The visitor economy generates around £1 billion a year for the local economy and it’s our priority to make sure visitors have lasting memories that will bring them back again and again. Our resort is equipped to manage the increased demand on our services that this brings, from traffic to parking enforcement, waste management, cleansing and security.
"This requires a lot of planning and investment, which is why we’ve allocated an additional £1.7 million towards our summer readiness plans for 2022.
"Ahead of our upcoming summer readiness themed Q&A session, please send in your questions on this topic in advance. You’ll then be able to find out more about our seasonal response plans and what we are doing to ensure a sensational summer season for all.’’
