If you’re passionate about gardening and need somewhere to put all your garden excess, you can now sign up to BCP Council’s 2020 garden waste collection service.
The service runs from February-December 2020 for Bournemouth and Poole residents, and pro-rata from April-December 2020 for Christchurch residents, with a fortnightly bin collection.
Bournemouth and Poole residents wishing to receive all 22 collections for the standard price of £46 for one bin, must register by Wednesday 8 January 2020. Christchurch residents have up until the 1 March 2020 to register for their garden waste service from BCP Council, which will commence in April 2020 with a pro-rata cost of £37.65 to reflect the length of service from April-December.
The current garden waste services are popular with nearly 50,000 households across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole registering in 2019, with 14,250 tonnes of garden waste collected in 2018/19. The waste is turned into a high-quality compost going full circle on the land.
