Overview
We will no longer be sending a calendar or sticker for your bin. Our collection crews will have a record of all subscriptions and will only collect from those addresses.
The garden waste service is an optional chargeable service available to all Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole residents.
Garden waste collections
The 2026 service starts on 26 January and the last collection will be on week ending 11 December 2026.
We will empty your bin every 2 weeks on the same day. You can check your collection day online and download a calendar of your collection dates for the year.
Make sure you always put your bin out by 5am on your collection day. We often make collections in the evening and may continue until 11pm.
Getting your garden waste bin
If you apply or renew before 31 December, your bin and any extra bins you have ordered will be delivered before the start of the 2026 garden waste service.
If you apply after 31 December, your bin and any extra bins you have ordered will be delivered within 20 working days.
Garden waste bin size
The bins are 240 litres, with approximate dimensions of 10,630 millimetres high, 720mm wide and 560mm deep.
