Visitor centres

You may want to consider a public facing role at one of our visitor centres or in our state-of-the-art visitor centre and shop at Hengistbury Head.

You can volunteer at:

  • Hengistbury Head - volunteers in both the centre and the shop are vital to keep this beautiful venue open more days and hours
  • Performing the past - Take part in events and activities showing Hengistbury Head as a scene of settlement and ceremony for more than twelve thousand years
  • Stanpit marsh - as well as manning the visitor centre, volunteers are asked to do a 30 minute warden session to check on the animals and ensure visitors are keeping their dogs on leads
  • Steamer point visitor centre - please email countryside@bcpcouncil.gov.uk if you are interested in volunteering
  • Kingfisher barn - volunteers would chat to visitors about wildlife in the local area
  • Upton Country park welcome centre.
