We occasionally offer paid opportunities for creatives and artists to work with us, including commissions for public art. We also offer spaces for artists and makers to display their work in our available exhibition venues.

Open call for artists: Sculpture solar trail

We are looking to appoint a range of artists to each produce a sculpture for a new solar trail running from Bournemouth Pier to Boscombe Pier, celebrating local heritage, linking to East Cliff’s Russell-Cotes Museum & Art Gallery and encouraging visitors to discover more of Bournemouth’s beautiful coastline.

Each sculpture should be of high artistic quality, imaginatively represent the sun or one of the planets of our Solar System, enhance the area through these artistic additions, and inspire viewers to seek to discover more about East Cliff’s pioneering past. This sculpture trail should develop the area’s cultural offer, providing free access to public art and be appealing to a variety of people of different ages and backgrounds.

Open call for artists: Words of Boscombe Murals

We are looking to celebrate Boscombe’s voices and enhance Boscombe’s seafront through new murals inspired by the words of local community members.

In 2024, members of BEAF Outsiders Project created a series of written word submissions. Five of these were selected to be turned into and inspire public art murals. We are looking for five artists to each create a mural for Boscombe. The artworks should feature and represent one of the pieces of creative writing.

The artwork should enhance the area’s cultural offer, providing free access to public art and be appealing to a variety of people of different ages and backgrounds.
