We are no longer responsible for allotments within the Bournemouth Town Council area, however we will provide support to the town council during a transition period.
There are 7 allotment sites in Bournemouth, 6 of which are now now owned and managed by Bournemouth Town Council. 3 sites are directly managed and 3 sites are self-managed. Longbarrow Allotments are in the Throop & Holdenhurst Village Council area.
Getting an allotment
You must live in Bournemouth to get an allotment from the town council.
If you previously applied to us for an allotment, your details have been passed to the town council and you keep the same position on the waiting list.
A full-size allotment plot is 250 square metres (m²) (300 square yards). However, as a full plot takes a lot of work to maintain, most plots are now smaller in size. The self-managed sites will often offer smaller plots to starters.
