19 beaches in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are currently sampled for bathing water quality during the summer months (May to September) by the Environment Agency.
We make the information available to the public by displaying it on notice boards. These notices display the bathing water quality (excellent, good, sufficient, or poor) at each beach.
Visit the Environment Agency website to find out more about the latest sampling results.
Sea Check free web app
The Sea Check free web app provides near real-time seawater quality information – alongside useful data on wind, weather and water conditions for the beach at Bournemouth and Boscombe piers. Beach users can keep up to date via their smartphones to help them make an informed choice before entering the water to swim, paddle or surf.
The webapp is not found on app stores – it runs directly in a browser. Access it instantly from the link below. Save it to your smartphone home screen so you have an app icon for quick access in the future.
