Register cooling towers and evaporative condensers

All premises in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole where cooling towers and evaporative condensers are situated must register with us under The Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations 1992.

The main reason for this is to identify potential areas that could give rise to the spread of infectious disease, for example legionella and to make sure preventative measures are taken to stop the risk of infection arising to employees and the public.

In the right set of circumstances, legionella can multiply and cause infection in people who inhale airborne water droplets containing the bacteria.

Register a cooling tower or evaporative condenser

To register, complete the form and email it to environmental.health@bcpcouncil.gov.uk.
