Bathing water quality

19 beaches in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are currently sampled for bathing water quality during the summer months (May to September) by the Environment Agency.

We make the information available to the public by displaying it on notice boards. These notices display the bathing water quality (excellent, good, sufficient, or poor) at each beach.

Visit the Environment Agency website to find out more about the latest sampling results.

Storm overflows

If you want to know more about storm overflows and environmental impact, the Wessex Water website has information about how they work. It also covers how Wessex Water operates, monitors and upgrades overflows in their area.
