New sustainable communities will be created within the town centre that are of high quality and that are exceptionally designed, which will be home to people of all ages.

Poole town centre will be a well-connected community, pedestrian focussed, with people-centred streets and spaces. High quality public realm will connect all areas of the centre and we will adopt an integrated sustainable approach to transport which will reduce the need for cars.
In line with BCP Council’s commitment to the Smart Places ambition, the town centre will be at the forefront of digital connectivity.
Experience driven
A wider choice of uses and activities will encourage footfall, support the high street and the wider town centre. We want to encourage a better mixed of uses, the development of experience-based leisure opportunities and create suitable premises and opportunities for artists, artisans and independent traders.
Working alongside our partners and stakeholders, we will provide community and business hubs, create new public event spaces & carefully curate cultural interactions.

Poole is unique. It has a rich maritime and artisan heritage with connections to the sea in the heart of the town centre. The diversity of the offer between new parts of the town and the Old Town will create an atmosphere that is distinctively Poole.
