Whistleblowing policy

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of conduct and ensuring compliance with all legal obligations, policies and recognised good practice.

We are committed to identifying, investigating and addressing malpractice wherever it occurs. Employees and all individuals involved in delivering council services are expected to report any concerns where they reasonably suspect wrongdoing or malpractice. Failure to report such concerns may expose us to financial loss, reputational damage, reduced staff morale and a loss of public confidence.

This policy applies to:

  • all employees of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP)
  • elected and co-opted councillors
  • volunteers
  • contractors and agency workers
  • partner organisations and their employees when delivering services on our behalf
  • foster carers
  • any other individual undertaking activities on behalf of, or in connection with us
