As the Local Transport Authority, we have a statutory duty to have a Local Transport Plan (LTP) guiding how transport is maintained, managed and improved over a 15-year period, helping us to secure government funding. The LTP as a joint document was adopted by both BCP and Dorset Councils in July 2026, following extensive engagement and consultation.
The strategy sets out a clear path to provide safer, healthier and more inclusive travel options for all modes of transport required to achieve our vision.
The accompanying implementation plan is a delivery framework, subject to funding; prioritising schemes that are ready to deliver now, while preparing for longer term transformation.
