Graduated Approach to Inclusion

The Graduated Approach to Inclusion (GATI) website provides guidance to support inclusive practice in schools across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

It brings together information on how education settings can identify and meet the needs of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), using a structured, staged approach to support.

The approach focuses on consistent, high‑quality provision in the classroom, helping schools, leaders and practitioners understand what support should be in place at different levels before moving to more specialist interventions.

GATI supports collaboration between schools, the local authority and partners, aiming to create a shared understanding of inclusive practice and improve outcomes for children and young people across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
