Decisions in the council can be made by:

• leader of the council
• cabinet
• full council (all councillors)
• chief executive and senior management team
• policy committees
• regulatory committees
• other committees

Council officers can also take decisions, so that they can deal with the day to day running of services without the need to constantly write reports and have them looked at by committees.
