Apply for or renew school transport

We can only provide free transport for those who meet the criteria.

Before you apply, you must view our home to school transport policy which explains who is eligible for support.

You can also view our Post 16 travel statement which explains more about how we can provide transport for 16 to 24 year olds in need.

Applying for transport assistance for the 2025 to 2026 academic year

Applications received between 6 May and 27 June will be processed in time for transport for eligible children to be arranged for the start of term in September 2025.

If you apply between 28 June and 1 September, your application will be processed but we cannot guarantee that you will receive an outcome before the start of the autumn term.

We may not be able to organise transport assistance for the start of term for eligible children where applications are received after 27 June.

If you apply after 1 September we will normally send you an outcome within 3 weeks. During particularly busy periods, especially at the beginning and end of the academic year, processing times may be longer.
