Overview

The Local Transport Plan (LTP) is a legally required strategy that guides how transport is managed, maintained, and improved in our area. It outlines how government funding will be used to make travel safer, greener, and more efficient supporting both national and local goals.

We are working with Dorset Council on the new joint Local Transport Plan 4 (LTP4) covering the next 15 years to replace the existing Local Transport Plan 3 (LTP3) which ends in 2026.

Our consultation for the Local Transport Plan 4 (LTP4)

We held an initial public engagement in 2024 and have used the feedback from that to create a draft Local Transport Plan supported by a draft Implementation Plan. This outlines proposed policies and projects across Dorset to help achieve the plan’s vision

Whether you're a resident, visitor, business, or part of the community we now want to know your views on the draft strategy.

How to take part in our Local Transport Plan consultation

What we will do with your consultation feedback

The more responses we receive, the better we can represent local priorities and build confidence in the proposed direction. Your views will help shape the final version.

Every response will be carefully reviewed and considered before final decisions are made. We will then publish a summary of the feedback received and explain how it influenced the final Local Transport Plan.

A final version of the plan is expected to be published in spring 2026.
