Avon Valley Path – Footpaths E63/16, E63/17 and E63/18

The Rights of Way team are still seeking a resolution to the breaching of the banks of the river Avon onto the public rights of way making footpaths E63/16 and E63/17 inaccessible. You still have the right to use the paths at your own discretion.

Our aim is to try to protect as much access to the area as possible. We're limited by what we're able to achieve in restoring access due to ecological regulation permits, planning and financial resources. We've been informed by the Environment Agency and Natural England it will not be possible to hold back the river with new sheet piling.

We will be working with the landowner to reopen and make access improvements to footpath E63/18 and will continue to find a resolution to regaining access to footpaths E63/16 and E63/17.
