The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, as amended by the Localism Act 2011, requires us to prepare and maintain a Local Development Scheme which sets out the proposed timeframe for the preparation of planning policy documents.

We prepared a Local Development Scheme that was agreed by Cabinet in May 2025 and Council in June 2025. This principally concerned the key milestones for the preparation of  a new BCP Local Plan and is set out below.
