The date for the reopening of Two Riversmeet Leisure Complex (2RM) in Christchurch has been confirmed as Saturday 25 July, with the gym, swimming pool and fitness classes once again available to customers and new top-of-the-range fitness equipment now installed in the gym.
We took the opportunity during the lockdown to upgrade to high specification cardio-vascular consoles and premium free weights equipment and resistance machines, all supplied by Pulse Fitness.
2RM Leisure Complex was enjoying record numbers of around 2000 membership subscriptions in the year prior to lockdown. Council investment in upgrading facilities rewards loyal members and ensures we offer anybody thinking of joining us a fresh up to date health and wellbeing experience.
The 2RM Fitness team have live-streamed over 200 online fitness classes via our Facebook page @2RMLC during the lockdown period, receiving over 100,000 views. The ongoing support from members and new customers at home has been overwhelming.
Councillor Lewis Allison, Portfolio Holder for Tourism and Leisure, said: “We hope investment in the facilities will encourage more people to visit Two Riversmeet Leisure Complex and enjoy everything it has to offer as part of a healthy lifestyle.”
In preparation for reopening following the Covid-19 lockdown, equipment has been socially distanced and six extra sanitising stations have been introduced within the gym. We are pleased to confirm that no equipment has been decommissioned, only upgraded.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind all customers that all activities must be pre-booked online or over the phone, up to date timetables and a ‘’how to book’’ guide is available on our website.
If you’re not yet a member but have been enjoying our free streamed classes, now is a great time to join us. Alongside the gym refurbishment and enhanced safety measures, we’ve launched an online membership system making it even easier to join.
We are offering the remainder of July free of charge and up to 25% off monthly fees during August and September for all new and existing members.
Please follow our Facebook page for further updates regarding the recommencement of other activities, and for information on becoming a member please visit BCPcouncil.gov.uk/2RiversMeet.
