Cllr Kelly, 2Riversmeet and BCP Council staff with the award

Staff at 2Riversmeet Leisure Complex in Christchurch are jumping for joy (rather than exercise) after winning the South West Leisure Centre of the Year Award in the 2021/22 Prestige Awards, for the second year in a row.

The awards celebrate small and medium-sized businesses who have thrived in a competitive area and have proven their success.

The 2Riversmeet team received the recognition after always going above and beyond to deliver an exceptional service to customers.

Amanda Barrie, Head of Leisure at BCP Council commented:

"I’m so proud of the 2Riversmeet team who consistently work hard to ensure our classes and offering appeals to residents of all ages. This award is a validation of all their hard work over the last year.

"I would like to extend my thanks to each and every member of the team for consistently providing a great facility with exceptional customer service, and I’m looking forward to building on this for the coming year."

The complex, which was refurbished last year, boasts a comprehensive gym, large swimming pool, a number of group classes, a trampoline academy, and football pitches. It also runs holiday activities for children during the school holidays amongst other things.

Councillor Jane Kelly, Portfolio Holder for Communities, Health and Leisure, BCP Council commented:

"This is a great accolade for 2Riversmeet – especially winning it two years in a row. It highlights the dedication that the staff put into making this a marvellous Leisure Complex for everyone.

"Living an active, health lifestyle is part of our Fulfilled Lives pledge and it’s great to hear that membership is continuing to grow as more and more people are recognising the benefits that an active lifestyle can bring."
