The local CAN Volunteers urge people to join them in a big push to maximise vaccinations – to boost hopes we can unlock soon.

Local charity Community Action Networkare recruiting volunteers locally instead of the Royal Voluntary Service. The CAN Team of over 1,900 volunteers are doing an amazing job working in partnership with NHS Dorset HealthCare at the BIC in Bournemouth, and at other local pharmacies and GP surgeries across Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole, where over 1,500 people a day are getting their jab. BUT we are getting really busy so need more volunteers to play a part in history by stepping up to support the vaccination effort.

The CAN Volunteers help people feel welcomed, comfortable, and safe and are at the heart of this brilliant vaccination programme which is running 7 days per week.

Margaret a CAN Volunteer from Poole said ‘We’re part of history and the CAN volunteers are like my family – we all pull together to save lives’

Stefano Abis, from Wallisdown Pharmacy said ‘We could not have run the vaccination programme without the CAN Volunteers’
