Highcliffe Castle is opening an exciting new addition for visitors to experience this summer.
As part of the Phase 7 Lottery Heritage Fund restoration works at the Castle, a new stained glass studio has been installed and a Stained Glass Conservator has been appointed to undertake conservation work on an internationally important collection of stained glass. This collection was compiled by Lord Stuart de Rothesay when he built the Castle between 1831-1836.
Visitors to the Castle will have the opportunity to see our Conservator and the team at work and learn more about this fascinating collection. From late summer the Castle will be holding visitor workshops and classes, and in the autumn, there will be an exhibition focusing on the history of the magnificent pieces held in the collection.

The creation of the Stained Glass studio and the engagement activities surrounding it would not be possible without the generous funding from The Pilgrim Trust and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
