Ensuring that everybody in our diverse communities has the opportunity to get involved and help shape and influence council services in their local area is a priority for BCP Council.

That’s why from Monday 13 January we will be out and about asking residents to have their say on new draft Community Engagement and Consultation principles we have put together.

These show how we plan to engage and consult with our communities in the future and we will be out meeting residents from across the BCP Council communities sharing these plans and encouraging residents to have their say on these proposals. Chat with one of our friendly team at an engagement event or complete a questionnaire in any of the BCP Council libraries or fill out a short survey online.

We'd like to find out how you currently get involved with BCP Council and what would encourage you to have your say in the future, so we can offer a range of ways that work for you.

Councillor Lewis Allison, Cabinet Member for Community, said: "Listening to local people and giving them the opportunity to shape the decisions we are making about their communities is a fundamental priority of this council. If you want to have your say, now is your chance to make suggestions about how we can keep you informed and involved in future plans."

Following the consultation, a draft Community Engagement and Consultation Strategy reflecting community feedback received will be prepared and presented to Cabinet in July.

Have your say before the consultation closes on Sunday 12 April 2020.
