Small voluntary sector organisations in the local area are encouraged to take advantage of the ways Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council’s BH Coastal Lottery can help them and the community.
BH Coastal Lottery is a weekly lottery which raises money for the voluntary and community sector in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
Residents can support the BH Coastal Lottery and good causes throughout the area by buying tickets, which cost £1 each, with the chance to win cash prizes of up to £25,000.
From every £1 BH Coastal Lottery ticket purchased, 50p goes direct to the good cause chosen by the ticket buyer and 20p into a pot from which local good causes can access funding for projects to help the local community.
Small voluntary and community organisations can benefit from this in many ways;
By signing up be one of the good causes to directly benefit from lottery ticket sales.
By applying for funding from the small grants scheme. For this round, a maximum of £5,000 can be granted and priority will be given to projects where a small grant will make a significant difference.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 26 February 2023.
Some examples of past projects helped include one-to-one support and community groups for vulnerable children, creation of the first ever Asian radio show in Bournemouth and schemes to provide debt and money management advice.

"That’s why I would urge any small local good causes who need grant funding to apply to the BH Coastal Lottery before the deadline, to help them continue their valuable work and make a difference in the community."
