Situated on the UK’s Best Beach*, the South’s coast with the most will be adding to its eclectic selection of seaside attractions with the brand new Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf Course, opening this Summer.
As part of an exciting new BCP Council initiative, Bournemouth’s historic seafront will be taken back to its smuggling roots. Delivered by the team behind the award-winning international air festival and Christmas Tree Wonderland, Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf is an exciting new 18-hole course that takes players on a treacherous journey through the 1700s and 1800s.
Opening on 31 July, the golf course will be part of Bournemouth’s iconic seafront offering which attracts over 7 million visitors a year. The adventure course will be entirely smuggler themed with some holes relating to Bournemouth stories and landmarks, such as ‘Decoy Cottage’ and ‘Gullivers Chine’ - all in keeping with the town’s famous smuggling past.
A famously family-friendly resort, Smugglers Cove in Bournemouth is suitable for all ages to enjoy. Players can choose whether to be part of the lawless Moonshadow Gang or a fearless Red Coat as they make their way through waterfalls, old churches and perhaps hidden treasure.

The course was built by Greenspan Projects Ltd, and is their biggest project to date. Rod Morton, Director of Greenspan Projects Ltd, said: "It’s great to see BCP Council embrace such an ambitious project; redeveloping what was a disused space in a prime location to create a revenue generating visitor attraction with a wow factor to capture the imagination of tourists and in turn support the local economy in Bournemouth.

To keep as environmentally friendly as possible, elements of Smugglers Cove have been built with recycled materials including 800 meters of recycled groyne timber and 28 recycled barrels to add to the design of the course.

Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf is great for all ages and fun for all the family. The course will be open all year round, 7 days a week from 10am daily, with prices ranging from £6.60 for children and £9.60 for adults to group bookings for £36.00.
