A coalition of local organisations has been established to take appropriate actions to support places and businesses re-opening across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

Led by BCP Council, the Economic Recovery Task Force will bring together the voices of key stakeholders in the local business community. By working together, they aim to help local businesses resume trading in a safe and coordinated manner in the coming weeks and months.

Aiding with the recovery process, this task forces will highlight the latest guidance, share expert advice, develop new initiatives and raise awareness for the support available to local business owners and employers. Current organisations within this task force include:

  • Christchurch BID Steering Group
  • Dorset Chamber of Commerce
  • Bournemouth Chamber of Commerce
  • Christchurch Chamber of Commerce
  • Dorset LEP
  • DWP
  • Dorset Growth Hub
  • Federation of Small Businesses
  • Bournemouth Echo
  • Destination Management Board
  • Silicon South
  • Bournemouth Coastal BID
  • Bournemouth & Poole College

Councillor Mark Howell, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Culture at BCP Council, said:

"There was a need to develop a coordinated and collaborative response to the current challenge’s businesses are facing. Working with local community leaders and local business advocates, we are providing support to help businesses reopen safely for both staff and customers.’’
