The Summer Reading Challenge will be returning to our libraries this summer.

This year’s challenge is called Story Garden and is all about:

  • adventures in nature
  • the great outdoors

Inspiring children to tap into a world of imagination through reading, exploring the magical connection between storytelling and nature.

Children can sign up:

Aimed at 4 to 11 year olds, the challenge is to read up to 6 books to receive rewards along the way and a medal and certificate upon competition.

Libraries will also have a packed programme of free fun events to do over the summer.

Challenge for children under 3 year olds

Those aged 3 and under can also do the mini challenge, which is a shorter version of the Summer Reading Challenge designed for younger readers.

It involves children collecting stickers for books they read, with six stickers on completion.

Children can also take part online to collect digital rewards.
