Fly-posters usually advertise events with posters, stickers or bills that are put up without permission.
How to report fly-posting
If you report fly-posting to us we can remove them if they are on:
- public land (such as the seafront, parks or playgrounds)
- roads
- pavements
- cycle lanes
When reporting fly-posting you will need to tell us:
- the location
- any additional information that can help us locate the issue
- your contact details if you want us to update you
You can also upload a picture of the flyposting.
How we deal with fly-posting
Our contracted external agency Waste Investigations Support and Enforcement (WISE) investigate both domestic and business waste fly-posting.
Where enough evidence is found, officers will trace the offenders and where appropriate, issue them with a fixed penalty notice (fine).
How you can help
Please do not place adverts on council property such as roundabouts, highway signs, lamp columns and telecom masts.
